I am looking for a Medieval Knight Armour costume.

If you have any ideas please let me know.

Much Thanks.

Depends on how much you have. I have seen many ultra nice replicas, but they range from $1,000 and up. You could search your area for SCA groups, who get out and have reenactments. They often times build there own armor. Which brings us to your third option, build your own. There are a lot of books that will show you how, from easy to make, down to build your own forge and pound hot steel.

I'll second the recommendation to find an SCA chapter... for armor, other props, free extras!

When I was in school at Cornell, every Sunday morning there were knights in full armor fighting on my front lawn; and in the basement of my dorm, with no known relationship to the university, was a medieval armorer. Maybe he's still there? Mack?

Anyway, in case you don't know, and need it for a search, SCA = "society for Creative Anachronism"

You probably won't be able to straight out borrow armor from its owner, since they get to be very expensive for one that looks like what you want, but you may be able to rent it.

I have a gorget I need to sell if you decide to get your own.

Thanks for the replys... I have never heard of SCA.
I will do a search for some in my area.

In the old days, Colleges were breeding grounds for the Dungeons and Dragons crowd, and they in turn knew all the details on the SCA. Of course, I doubt many are still playing D&D these days.

I found the SCA website... Looks promising.
If you have any other ideas, please post them.

thx.
