You don't have to spend a lot. Get some T-8 $20 fixtures from the Home Depot with two 32 watt Warm White lamps and you'll get a good 500 FCs.

I have two 4' 4 bank units and they are utterly fantastic. The light is soft and even. I can easily position and cut them......fantastic lights. Of course, they are ridiculously expensive!
