generally speaking, when shoot video, are kiniflows considered providers of flattering light? what is their general reputation?

we have a producer who says they make people look "shiny" and gererally crummy.

yeah i know, depends if the dp knows his craft, but all else being equal....

that's like asking which brand paint will make a painting look better?

its the artist that counts, the way its applied and mixed and the measure.

I love kinos, and have never made someone look shiny with them. Maybe you producer was on a gig where they didn't have a make up artist to take the sheen off the actor. maybe it was a bad a DP or gaffer, or were rushing a shot to make their day.
