Kings

New show on NBC...So far, 1.5 hours into the premier and I'm hooked. It's a very well developed story about an alternate reality (like 1985 in Watchmen) where Kings run the world...just funky! Not sensational or sci-fi...just damned good story telling.

besides The Office, 30 Rock, and LOST, if it's on broadcast TV, I'm not interested...

but I'm gunna watch this, and for one reason... Ian McShane. The premise sounds promising, but McShane is one of the watchable actors I've ever seen. Looking forward to this on hulu.

It's interesting...Not sure its world is totally convincing or completely thought out but I give them props for trying something different. The acting was all pretty good, especailly Ian McShane. I keep expecting him to say c*cksucker. I may watch the next few episodes to see how it develops.

Whoops. Planned to see it (really just for Ian) and then totally forgot.

Oh well. I expect it will stream and I'll see it then.

Same here. Completely forgot.

I think it looks very interesting. People are already comparing it to how Battlestar Galactica has Caprica City and the colonies that are extremely close to present day society except for one major difference, advanced space travel and robots.

And now with Kings, a monarchy that resembles our 21ST Century society. Sounds like a really interesting premise for a show.

Ian McShane is awesome as well.

It is also free on iTunes (well, the first episode anyway).

Quite ambitious for NBC -- lots of very well done effects in the city-scape. Step forward, I'd say.

Acting is passable. Unlike flippin 24!! Ian is amazing again.

We'll see where it goes.

Mike

Seen the second episode now, and so far I'm really digging Kings. I think this series has a lot of potential, especially considering two of the secrets we've learned about King Silas (McShane).
