Kingdom of Heaven (Ridley Scott movie)

Re: Kingdom of Heaven (Ridley Scott movie)

looks sexy. lets just hope it isnt another period war epic bomb...maybe ridley will turn out to be the only guy on the block who can pull these things off presently.

jeremy irons! hes great!

now that i look at it, i would like to have seen bloom as alexander rather then Colin Farrell.

Re: Kingdom of Heaven (Ridley Scott movie)

Looks good. Ridley Scott is awesome so hopes are high here. I swear Orlando Bloom must have the best agent in the universe. The guy gets some serious bits.

Re: Kingdom of Heaven (Ridley Scott movie)

R Scott's body of work over the last 10 years is impressive. He just might be the best director working right now in terms of technical execution. This looks epic and wonderfully photographed.

Re: Kingdom of Heaven (Ridley Scott movie)

I hope the film is historically accurate in that they (the crusaders) slaughtered those who did not believe in their god.

Scott is one of my favorites!

John, if you have not seen them yet, the BMW shorts are cool and Scott was behind some of them

I believe 3 of the 8

Re: Kingdom of Heaven (Ridley Scott movie)

the first set of bmw films were produced by advid fincher. which is pretty cool...my favorite bmw film is the follow by wong kar wai.

Re: Kingdom of Heaven (Ridley Scott movie)

I have the DVD BMW Films; great short films and fun to study.

I'm torn on my FAV being Ticker (With Cheadle) or Powder Keg (with Skarsgard)

Re: Kingdom of Heaven (Ridley Scott movie)

I watched them all again today. They all rock and they're all so unique. They totally show what can be done with just 7 or 8 minutes. Very inspirational for someone who wants to do a short. Beat the Devil, Ticker and Powder Keg are just phenomenal.

(My mistake, Beat the Devil was Tony Scott not Ridley)

Re: Kingdom of Heaven (Ridley Scott movie)

Gladiator was a blast, and Ridley Scott knows how to make gorgeous movies.

But Russle Crowe is cool and Orlando Bloom has never played a role I liked (I liked him best in Pirates of the Carribean only because his blandness didn't distract me from Johnny Depp--who was amazing.) I'm not saying he's a terrible actor, but I dunno...Colin Farell is way cooler and Alexander was still lame.

The trailer looks, good, though.

Re: Kingdom of Heaven (Ridley Scott movie)

Yea Ridley is one of the best out there, when he team up with Hans Zimmer they deliver Visuals and Sound that is truly an art (well, Hannibal was terrible) But Gladiator and Black Hawk Down is among the best movies made from 2000 to this date.

Re: Kingdom of Heaven (Ridley Scott movie)

I love sword movies, and this looks like it will be an eyeball feast. Ridley is The Man.

I don't get it how Orlando keeps getting parts. Yeah, he was good as an Elf dude, but I haven't liked him in anything else I've seen him do, since.

Maybe its 'teenage-girl-butts-in-seats' power.
