King Arthur

Looks cool, with good players (one whom I'll simply call Hornblower, as I'll never spell his name correctly).

Though the phrases "the true origins" and "from Jerry Bruckheimer" are a dubious partnership at best . . .

For example, they're obviously portraying Guinevere as a kick-ass lady warrior, filtering the "true origins" through 21st Century sensibilities.

Even so, it should be a fun ride.  Better, hopefully, than "Pearl Harbor."

Re: King Arthur

This looks really good and with Antoine helming it Im sure it will have some seriousness factor. I wasnt sure what to think almost a year ago when I first saw footage but this trailer is polished.

Looks great and we'll see if HORNBLOWER/DRIVER from BMW dude has what it takes to draw them in; although this kind of film doesnt warrant a star. Kiera is damn smokin'

Re: King Arthur

When i first saw a clip i thought it actually looked kinda cool, but then "Jerry Bruckheimer" SCRATCHED it's way into my ear canal

looks like i'll be skipping that one. Which is particularly painful considering Keira Knightley stars in it and I vowed to go see anything she even appears in until I'm dead... Then again, she's not returning my calls anyway :'(

Re: King Arthur

Don't feel bad, Keira hasn't returned my calls either.

I'll definitely be seeing this, though the Bruckheimer thing does have me worried. I've always dug the Arthur legend (saw Camelot at the Fisher Theatre in Detroit at an impressionable age), and am already drooling over Keira as Guinevere.

Re: King Arthur

Hey!! whats wrong with Bruckheimer, honestly he is prolly one of my favorite producers ever....I admit he has had a couple of faults (pearl harbor, Armageddon, and Kangaroo Jack(BLAH)) but he has helped make some of my most favorite movies ever (The Rock, Pirates of the Carribean, and Black Hawk Down). Every flimmaker/producers make their mistakes in the movie business or have their bad share of films...but thats how things go no matter how big or famous you are. Show some respect.

I personally can't wait for King Arthur

Re: King Arthur

...especially when you consider that most people only started drooling over Kiera after Pirates Of The Carribbean, which Uncle Brucky produced as well.

And come on...Bad Boys, Top Gun, Beverly Hills Cop, Crimson Tide, Black Hawk Down and even CSI? The man defined his own genre and even film looks. How often did you see film grad effects before he and the old Propaganda clan came along?

Re: King Arthur

I don't have a problem with Bruckheimer; I like many of his flicks. I'm just leery of him tackling the Arthur legend because it's a story I'm fond of, and I love the characters. Bruck has indeed made some good flicks, but come on, character development is hardly his strong suit. Action is his forte, which is fine. I'm sure Arthur will be entertaining. But if it's merely entertaining, I'll be disappointed.
