The best way to describe this would be too look at the above link, but im just wondering how you would key out say all but one of the colours in a piece of footage... im guessing this is an after effects job which im not too hot on but id like to have a shot at this...

cheers if anyone can help!

one other thing.. would it be possible to do more than one colour using that method in FCP..?

:kali:The method I would go about using would be more precise but much more work.

First duplicate both video layers on top of each other

Color correct the bottom layer to black and white

Rotoscope each frame of the child in the top layer and color correct it how ever you want...

This will be precise but definitly alot of work.

If you haven't shot it yet you might want to consider shooting the scene without the person you want to be in color in the scene. So shoot the scene without the red kid in it.

Then shoot it again with the red kid in front of a green screen. this way you wont have to rotoscope anything and just key him out instead.
