keying and 24p/30p frame rates

I was wondering if there is a benefit to shooting 30p or 24p for greenscreen. Will the frame rate make any difference when you are keying and masking in post?

also, if anyone has any other suggestions, advice, and experience to offer when using the dvx100 with greenscreens and keying, i would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you

In theory the framerate wouldn't alter the key at all, other than the number of frames your machine has to crunch. If you were shooting interlaced, etc then there are other factors to deal with. From the dvx, you're dealing with a lossy format, and the DV color space, so your best bet is to light the screen well (very evenly, watch the shadows), and expose your frame correctly. This should get you on the right track for a clean key.

ye, use several lights just for the green/blue and make close shots (I mean don't make big totals)

Keep a good distance between your subject and the screen and give them a good backlight (if your scene allows); both of these will help to prevent reflected green light from spilling onto your actors and poking holes in their shoulders.

The main difference will be the number of frames you'll have to hand-roto (and no matter how good you light, there's always manual work to be done). Shoot 24p and save yourself the work!
