hey guys, under the compression settings, whats the advantage of setting keyframes on the output? (if any)

also, someone told me about windows media encoder as one of the best compressors with small file size or something like that. so i downloaded it. does this mean that i now have that codec in premiere and ae so i should choose it for output. or should i say out of premiere as an avi?

if i need to save it as an avi, then which encoder is the right avi out of premiere Uncompressed AVI, Microsoft AVI, Microsoft DV, AVI

Keyframes are at the very basics of understanding compression. A keyframe is a 'full frame' of information, very much like an I-frame.

Windows media a good encoder, not a very good encoder. It offeres a very basic set of featureswhen compared to something like CarbonCoder from Canopus.

The Windows Media Codec is part of Windows, like Quicktime is part of OS X.

AVI needs to die, it's an outdated container format that's very limited and causes no end of problems. Avoid it. Encode to Windows media from within PPro
