Keyframe Question

I need to keyframe some clips to move them vertically bottom to top of the screen and to loop. I want the vertical movement to loop. Now I already have my clips scaled down and positioned on the screen like I want them (similiar to a film strip) now I can't seem to figure out how to keyframe them to move in a vertical position. I am working with 4 clips. Each clip last about 10 seconds. I am working in Image/Wireframe. When I park the playhead over a clip, I only seeing 1 clip at a time and not all the clips that I have selected. According to a book I have, it says I should be able to see the wire frames of ALL clips I have selected and when I drag one clip the other clips will move as a unit. When I drag the clip it moves by itself leaving the other clips behind.

The effect is called a Flying PIP effect according to the book Motion Graphics and Effects for Final Cut Pro page 145-147 if you have the book.

Re: Keyframe Question

Try nesting the vertical clips into one track. Then, in the motions tab of the viewer (right click on the nest or click and hit enter on your keypad) you should be able to move them around and keyframe it.

I hope that makes sense.

You've already positioned them, right? Maybe I'm not reading your post well... if you are having problems moving each clip because they are on top (stacked) on eachother... Wireframe, yes... then click on a different track -- the wireframe will adjust to THAT track for moving by the mouse.

Good luck,

Re: Keyframe Question

never mind, with a little trial and error I got the clips to move all around the screen...i am not exactly sure how I did it...just kept playing around with the clips and then adding keyframes.
