Keyboard shorcut/Mac keyboard question

Working with one of those new ultra-thin mac keyboards. I can't seem to find a way to override the F key "Apple" shortcuts like the stupid dashboard. (I like to use f4 for toggle switch and f9 for easy ease)

Also, in Final Cut Pro, you can change things around and map your own shortcuts, is there a way to do this in AE?

EDIT: using CS3 on a quad core Intel.

Weird, according to this article, there isn't a way to do it in AE.
