Kessler Pocket Jib anyone?

Just got mine with K-pod system, hercules head and cineslider. I was lucky to get the new version cine slider that mounts on the jib like the pocket dolly.

Basically I grew tired of the downfalls of other jib systems. Forever struggling with tripods and legs not designed to have a jib dropped on top. My vinten does an ok job with it, other legs and head used previously Sachtler, Miller, Libec - didnt find any of them were 100% perfect solution to carry the weight at full stretch - a loaded HPX500.

Set up the new jib in two minutes first time out of the bag. I liked how you only need to level off the hercules head then attach jib. Instead of the old conundrum, level the jib centrepoint whilst mounted and then the jib bowl ....

Of course havent used it yet, but initial impressions are it will do what I want and get me passed that old hassle of twisting legs when moved, continually leveling the jib with all the weight on it and generally using time I could spend on other things.

Very cool.

I'm very eager to pick up a full Pocket Jib kit from Kessler Crane. Just waiting for payment to come through from one of my clients. ..gotta love Net30 :( ...

The speed of setup and physical size are what appealed to me the most. Sometimes I need to be setup with lights, camera, and everything in under 30 min and often times we are filming in tight spaces. The Pocket Jib looks perfect for me...especially at it's price point.

Tony, just one word of caution. Those k-pod legs will never buckle bend etc. But theres a reason. They are solid and have the weight to prove it.
