Kessler Crane Question

Just got my Kessler Crane KC8 and have been messing around with it. I had one question that I can't find an answer to. My crane came with the front mount hanging below the pivot point, but in almost all of the Kessler videos they have the mount raised above the pivot point - exactly the opposite of my rig. I know the current set-up allows for very low angle shots, but why does Kessler always show it in their videos with the mount reversed? Just curious what the advantage is?

You mean the camera mount itself?

Underslung (as you have it?) is advantageous for low shots and doing things like craning into an open car window - or from the back of an open truck and upwards. Essentially, the camera gets lower and, due to the flipping of the head/crane relationship, allows you to get more creative shots (as the crane is given more freedom of movement due to the underslung mount).

Try doing a few crane shots mounted both ways - you'll see a subtle difference.

Thanks. That's what I figured based on my screwing around with it today, but I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something.
