Kessler Crane KC12 Problem. wobble after installing Revolution Head

Hi, looking for some help, I just bought a 12" Kessler Crane, after installing the Revolution Head the rig became very wobble, is this normal? What can I do to minimize this?

BTW: with out the Rev is a different history is very stable

ive got the same setup and havent seen the problem your talking about. are you using the Kpod with their Hercules head to mount the crane on?

with that said if i bump something like the ground or bump into something right or left of the pan (like a wall)...the rig will give me a bit of a "shimmy" for a second or two but assuming im not interrupting its natural motion i find it smooth and fluid.

as far as weight i use an EX1, HMC150 & 5DmkII so far and have found it to be pretty solid.

i make the wire thats stretched around the rig pretty tight and rigid.

on another note i always have the Revolution hanging down and not sticking up. not sure if that would make a difference.

Hi, yes Hercules and Kpod, and Head hanging down, do you have the "Ultra Duty Control Rod"? not sure if that will make a different when using the Revo head.

I'm a bit frustrated about this. I'm pretty sure if I used the Rig outside little wind will make this crane setup useless.

KV Films,

is the wobbling your experiencing all the time no matter what you do?

are you able to make *any* pans or up and down manuvers succesfully?

are you doing hi speed revolution head pans or tilts?

ive had the crane outside 2 times and cant say i noticed anything odd although i dont remember it being windy either.

you asked about the wire/ rod...? whatever came with the stock package is what im using.

about your balancing of weight distrubution...on my rig i can almost operate most moderate moves with my pinky finger as far as the crane itself. the crane floats in an amazing way. i have the rig oh so slightly weighted (to go upwards) so if i was to walk away without locking off it would not easily bottom out on the ground.

if i am in a completely stopped position and do radical hi speed pans with the Revoltion head it will jiggle some but, i hardly ever would do that. most of my moves are absorbed into the innersia of the cranes long arm movements.

is your camera properly center balanced on the RH?

im using the extension handle on the back of the crane. not sure this matters but might have something to do with it?

dumb question but are your wheels on the Kpod locked off?

im really curious now about what your experiencing since your experience is not mine at all. but...i wish the system wasnt so combersome to put together! i love the rig but have found my enthusiasm to take the rig out is not what i wish it was. for me its definitely a 2 man operation and keeping track of all of the pieces to erect it i found challenging if your in a cluttered enviroment or the light isnt so good for breaking down i have to be brutally aware of getting all pieces put back away etc. still though when its up its been worth its weight in gold id say.
