Keeping Audio Discreet?

[SIZE=+0]My first post. I am curious how one separates audio channel 1 & 2 when capturing thru firewire into Premiere 6.5. It only gives you a single channel. Does one duplicate it to make two channels and then pan one left and one right and mute the one they don't want???[/SIZE]

It comes in as a stereo channel on one track... copy that track and paste on another track... then in track one "duplicate left" and in track two "duplicate right".

Done... two seperate tracks which will interact with L and R equally.
