I bought an FD 50mm 1.4 on eBay earlier this week, and it arrived today. Private seller with 100% positive feedback.
Packed well, but I was immediately a little disappointed with the lack of a real rear cap. In its place is a cover, but it does not lock to the lens; rather just slides on and off. Said nothing about that in the auction. Took that off and noticed a couple of very small blemishes on the rear element; no biggie, I understand it's an old lens.
Pull the front cap off and notice that there's something there, looks like water spots. I wipe it with a lens cloth but to no avail. Added a little breath and tried, still nothing. It appears that this 'water stain' -like flaw is inside the lens somewhere, perhaps inside the front element. Below is a photo:

You should be able to see some of the defect right below "JAPAN" on the lens. Upon further very close inspection, I notice that when viewing from the rear, the lens seems to 'sparkle' a bit under light. I assume this sparkling is haze, though I've never dealt with it before.
I have never encountered problems like this with lenses or inspected them carefully enough to (since until now I've never paid > $30 for a lens). Would this be one that I should return and buy a different one?
Thanks!!!
