Hi Everyone,
I have just finished the showreel for a fantastic TV presenter (who also happens to be my wife), Katie Clift.
I shot it on a DVX100AE so I could get some really nice shots. Anyway, let me know if you have any thoughts or if you need a presenter or actor in Australia I present to you Katie Clift... :)

Hi Matt, I like the overall feel, I think its suitable for the current Australian market (though I havent been there much in the past two years). The only thing I didnt really like was the strobing effect.

I notice that youre based in Brisbane, I am in Tokyo at present but from Aus via Sydney then Melbourne and will return close to Brisbane at the end of the year - looking between there and Gold Coast. Anyway feel free to drop me an email admin at scarlet-films dot com and perhaps we can utilise each others skills/whatever.

Hey, nice video. Love the overall feel. She's got a great look and great voice. But here's my suggestion.

First of all, he strength is obviously in presenting. Her voice and her mannerisms are very good as a host.

As an actor she's okay. She may need to work on it, because everytime she was acting it felt a bit forced. It was especially the part in the middle, "Gillian"/dags. Seemed more like theater acting because it was a bit over the top IMHO. But if that's what you're going for, then good. However she needs to work on her acting demo. As a film maker (even though I may not be the most experienced) I didn't feel like I wanted to bring her in for an audition. However if I needed a host she would have been first on my list.

This may be because I'm seeing her in a more real setting, presenting, and then an acting setting, which just feels like a stretch having just seen her present.

One suggestion would be to keep it together for, say, a website (but cut down on the "Gillian"/dags part), or beter yet, seperate it and make two demo reels. One for her acting and one for her presenting. If it's seperate you can present one or the other to whomever she wants an audition with.

Hi guys,
Thanks for your help. It's great to get some other people's views as it can get hard to determine what is good and what is not when you know the person, etc.
I agree with the acting piece... it is old (off VHS :) ) from around 4 years ago and it does stick out from the others and probably even pulls the others down.
I think I'll try to redo it... or maybe just keep the presenting one and pull the other one as presenting is looking to be more her thing.
Thanks again,
Matt
