Just got my new KATA rain cover from B&H yesterday. Those of you that were thinking about this cover....it is really nice and you can even keep your LCD screen open with the cover on.
Now I do have a ? for those that are already using this cover. Do you keep the lens hood on when using the cover? The reason I asked is because our lens hood is open in the back and even though you have the entire camera sealed up with the rain cover water can still get in from the front of the camera...i.e. sideways rain like in a Hurricane or bad storm.
I left my lens hood on but when I tightened the little lock straps it was too snug against the zoom and focus rings that it didn't move. I had to bring the cover up and over the lens hood then tightened it from that point which allowed me to be able adjust my focus and allowed the camera to zoom freely.
Just wondering if anybody else noticed that. I am not trying to discourage anyone from getting the cover because it is a very good quality cover. I will just have to play around with it to make sure that the front of the camera is sealed up like the rest of the camera is.
