Citizen Kane is on TCM right now...started at 2 am, but damn listings always get mixed up on days when the clocks change.

Still...sweet.

Damn, wish I had cable......
For that matter, I could just go out and buy the DVD.
:)

That movie is like Lawrence of Arabia to me... every time I watch it I feel as though I had forgotten how good it was.

Welles' Magnificent Ambersons is coming up next. And last week they showed another Welles film, The Trail, which is based on a Franz Kafka novel. Very interesting film.

I watched it for a while, and then I stumbled on Small Time Crooks...man, Woody Allen is just so watchable. Quirky but believeable characters is what he does best, whether he plays them himself, or gets good solid actors...there is always some good writing there (feel free to ignore Scenes From A Mall).

I digitally recorded Salvador earlier off TVO...gotta make time for that tomorrow.

The Stranger is also on, with Welles and Edward G. Robinson, but the print is bad...washed out black and white.

Just for the record - he didn't write or direct 'Scenes from a Mall'
One of the few things he just acted in.

I still am surprised at the techniques used in KANE that are still in rampant use today; Scorsese, Speilebr, De Palma, Tarantino (my favs) all use from that films visual style.
