Interesting from several angles. First is that it's 4K on a 1/2" chip, so some will dismiss it immediately as "not cinema", whereas others who were begging for a 16mm-sized Scarlet might think "hmmm..."
.
I find the "not cinema" thing illogical. Not all cinema has shallow DoF.
But a 1/2" 4K sensor IS stupid, just for a different reason: insane pixel density. Maximum usable ISO is gonna be way too low.
so thats smaller than a 4/3" sensor... why not just make it a m4/3 mount? existing technology, lots of option for lens mount. spell out the obvious? And we'll see soon a JVC 4K2K cam with 1,25" sensor & Nikon mount :

i do think that 4 sd card is a pretty clunky workflow.
they had a choice of
CF - xqd - p2 - sxs
and they choose... 4 sd cards. brilliant!
Potentially bigger than those. Do the math and you get:4 SD cards. Really!??
How big is 1.25" anyway? Is it between 1/3 and 1/2 or between 1/2 and 2/3?
Not necessarily the case, and in fact not likely, it's likely smaller than 4/3.1,25" = larger than a super 35 mm sensor and of course larger than a 4/3" sensor. It's almost a FF sensor.
What is a back-illuminated CMOS sensor and what is the advantage of that?

If Panasonic did a 4K or QuadHD version of the AF100 with with a 14-stop dynamic range and minimally 12-bit encoding for $5K, I think they'd eclipse Red and virtually every other manufacturer.
