JVC proHD log &transfer plugin needed

Can't download the JVC proHD Log&transfer plugin for FCP7 from JVC support page, in order to download you need to register with a camera serial number.
I don't own JVC equipment, just wanting to convert some JVC MP4 clips(provided by client) to Apple Prores.
I see no logic in camera ownership requirement to be able to download a plugin unless JVC only wants the owner/operators to edit their own footage.
Can anybody offer me a solution, preferably free? (Asking client his camera serial number is not an option, very unprofessional)
*QTpro, Compressor, QT, Mpeg Streamclip don't work.
 
I talked to JVC ProHD department, and got the plugin, they were very helpful.
(Turns out to be any 8 digit number does the trick as they don't check the serial number you register; it is just a formality.)
However; JVC plugin doesn't convert the MP4 into prores; it only rewraps the MP4 clips to XDCAM EX. (which is the native format for JVC pro cameras)
So you still need a 3rd party software to convert into prores, MPEG Streamclip does the job now.

Have you tried Compressor? If that doesn't work, try Clipwrap.

Tx for your input.Compressor doesn't open MP4, I think clipwrap is only good for MTS files...If the above solution didn't work I was going to use 'Pavtube'; a nice prores converter software($35)
