Two days ago I was shooting at the New York International Auto Show. As I was leaving I decided to shoot some random b-roll. Walking by the Toyota display I noticed a couple of concept vehicles. I had an Olympus 12-40mm 2.8 Pro lens mounted on my LS300. The camera and lens were set to manual focus. I was recording in HD 50Mb 422 .mov. The Toyota concept FT-4X vehicle recorded without any focus problems. However, when i recorded the Toyota FV2 concept vehicle, I experienced a strange focus loss problem. When ever I would zoom out from a tight shot, the camera would loose focus. If I did not zoom out the focus held. I then walked past the Ford display and shot some b-roll of the Ford GT. No focus problems. For some reason FV2 vehicle caused the camera to loose focus. Any ideas why this happened?
