JVC LS 300 w/ Lumix power zooms

We just finished testing the JVC LS 300's zoom rocker with the Lumix 14-42mm & the 45-140mm power zooms....
First off, the rocker does work with these lenses...yea!......
On both lenses, if you stay in S35 on the mapping section, the 14-42 does vignette in the corners about 3% all the way through the zoom. With the 45-140, it vignettes a little less but is still there. When we re-mapped to MFT,(80%), the 45-140mm is fine but with the 14-42mm it still had a tad of vignette in the lower corners so we had to go down to 78% to clear it.
We are still looking for any other MFT lenses with a power zoom that might work and will report when we find them.

Thanks, Jim. I assumed you'd have to re-map using these lenses. How does the speed work? Are they silent enough for video work? Do they stay in focus as you zoom?

Hello Jim,

could you please let me know it the LS 300 works fine with the Manfrotto 521 PFI Lanc controller?
http://www.videogear.co.uk/Lens-Con...cus/Iris-Control-For-Panasonic/prod_3592.html

I used to use it on the AF100 a few years ago for focusing and iris control with MFT lenses and it was (almost) a joy to use it.
I'm mostly interested in focusing response. If it is as reactive as on the AF100 it would be a must have for the LS 300 owners who wants to use lumix lenses.

Thanks in advance,
Diego

Hmmm, that's interesting - nowhere that I can find in their literature does it specify LANC - Maybe a register issue with Sony.. Darn, I was hoping to use my old Aaton grip like I did with the AF100.

I plugged in a Varizoom LANC controller and it worked....it only turns the camera on & off and record......

Jim,
is this one the Varizoom lanc controller that you tried out? Do you mean that other functions as iris +-, data, and most important, focus are disabled?

Does the Libec ZFC-5HD control manual focusing?

Thanks a lot for your answers.
