Hi. I recently was given some footage that I was asked to edit. The footage was shot on from what I understand to be a JVC HDD camera. The footage was subsequently dragged from the camera and dropped on to a dvd and burned for me.
I was unable to open and play the files after I received them. After looking for answers online, I was told that I could just rename the file extension to .mpg rather than the .mod. Doing that actually allowed me to view the video files but did not offer me any audio playback.
I tried using video converters for mac such as aimer video converter which did successfully allow me to playback audio and video. My picture quality is incredibly depreciated however. A friend mentioned something about the interlacing of the video. I have provided a link to a screenshot of the video image.

If anyone has any experience with converting this file format into something I can use then I would be incredibly grateful for your input. Thanks.
