JVC CU-VH1USP as edit deck

I was wondering since this seems to be the only 16:9 portable minidv deck available, if it is compatable with the dvx100A and if I were to transfer from one to the other if everything would turn out o.k (24P MODE?)and how much quality loss there would be. I am making a documentary on my boss and I have two applications for a deck. one is to run a hemet cam into my pocket and record on minidv and the other is as a transfer deck when I am gone for months at a time and want to do some basic editing.
thanks,
ryan

JUST FOUND THIS ON THE JVC WEBSITE..."Note: the CU-VH1 will not display or output (through analog connectors) HDV recordings made in the 24p mode. It will record IEEE-1394 signals recorded in the HDV 24p mode, and play them back through the IEEE-1394 connector.". COULD SOMEONE DUMB THAT DOWN FOR ME? i KNOW THIS DECK IS MADE TO USE WITH THEIR HDV CAMERA, BUT i WAS HOPING IT WOULD BE COMPATABLE. i HAVEA FEELING THAT THIS DECK WILL NOT WORK. aNY OTHER SUGGESTIONS?

Never used one, but it should be fully compatible in DV mode.

Be forewarned, however, that there were some JVC decks that strip out the 24p cadence flags. So definitely try before you buy.
