Wasn't anything like Batman v. Superman. I really couldn't have been happier with it, except for the Flash.

The musical callbacks to the Burton and Donner films were great, especially as the characters seemed like older versions of THOSE characters.

Just shows you how different opinions are. Most of the people I saw on the internet said the exact opposite, especially regarding The Flash. *shrug* Was interesting to see what they tried to do with it but otherwise it felt very "meh" to me. All of these films could've been so much better and built towards something far more satisfying.

I enjoyed the film a lot, except for the villain.

It just seems like every Superhero movie (and particularly DC) these days involves some God-like villain who the heroes unsuccessfully try smashing into over and over again to no avail until for whatever seemingly random reason (finding inner strength or will power, etc) the heroes are finally able to smash the villain into submission at the end.

There's a reason why The Dark Knight was so popular, because it involved an intelligent villain that actually had to be outsmarted instead of just smashed into a pulp.

Yeah that villain looked like he'd fallen out of a Playstation 2 cut - scene, really bad for such an expensive movie. I hate the way most villains are CG these days.

Overall it was fun. I thought the villian was quite indimidating. Like most of the save the world Superhero movies these days it got a little tedious and boring.

I thought the cast worked really well together though. Wish they would just stick to it and do another one. DC's biggest problem is they have no confidence in themselves.

These are really just modern day tales of polytheistic deities like ancient cultures used to write stories about. Gods and demigods with different traits or domains of specialty, mortals with special abilities or sci-fi technology in the modern versions, hybrid creatures (what used to be a half goat half a person is now a cyborg that's half machine half person in the modern tellings), magical items and mystical realms (now other planets or different dimensions). They've even blatantly stated it by calling Superman a god or heck Thor in the Marvel universe directly being pulled from ancient mythology. So it doesn't surprise me in the least bit that they face god-like villains as well.
Of course the ancient stories get really weird sometimes whereas modern superhero versions stay more PG and somewhat normal.
Though I agree that the overuse of CGI villains is getting old or at least the inability to render them completely lifelike is.
