Hmmm... not sure how accurate the info is here, but this link says the budget for Citizen Kane was only $686,033 (est.). Amazing to think that nearly 65 years later a prop from the film would have a list price 2.5 times the film's budget.

SumFun - The DVD addition is hilarious. What is this guy thinking? "Maybe if I throw in a $15 DVD that will be the icing on the $1.6 million cake."

This guy must have some outstanding debts or financial troubles if he's this desperate. When people think of Kane they think of the snowglobe (broken) or of "Rosebud", not some random prop trophy. I could see it going for $25k or maybe $50k, but $1.6m is an act of desperation, publicity, or greed. Possibly all 3.

I did see the floating billboard from BladeRunner over a bar in Dallas a long time ago. Now idea what ever happened to it.

Come to think of it the only thing that would change is the trophy cup.
