Just won in my first festival!

Well its not really a festival, thats just what the instructor calls it. Its the Showing of all the students work at the end of each semester. They set out the chairs and projector and everyone brings friends and family.

Anyway, I won 3 out of 6 catagories, taking Best Drama, Best Screenplay, Best Box Art [everyone has to make a box] while missing out on Best Comedy, Best Documentary and Best animation.

The guy who won animation did a pretty cool excersize with 3d and obviously should have won since mine was live action (although we did have a puppet), but my friend told me he looked at the ballot scores and he beat me by 2 votes! My movie was so good and appearently the puppet worked so well that i almost one in the animation catagory! I couldn't believe it.

In fact it was the guy who won animation that can up to me afterwards and asked if he could BUY my box for $10! (I now have my first $10 bill i made from my art framed on my wall)

so yep, this posts is nothing but self serving propaganda, but im just so excited, I had to go up on stage and give thanks and everything. Yesterday i had a friend take a dvd of the movie to my music professor (the music i did for it was also my music final) and when he said who it was from other ppl said "the guy who won at the festival?" They actually know my name! and the secretary says my instructor actually threw out the word "prodigy"!

so again, sry for sounding like such an ass, but you guys have been such a help on everything i've done that you deserve credit and thanks as well!

Congrats. I'm glad you didn't win best comedy, documentary and drama for the same film. That would seem strange :beer:

Congrats for sure. keep at it. Remember, confidence comes from success, and your off to a good start.

What school is this? I bet in Montery CA, there are a lot of "all I want to do is direct" types. Way to go being at the top and giving back to this on-line community.

lol its kinda a joke, it didn't win it becaue u'd think i wasn't elegible, like the animation thing, but look what happened there ;)
 
its a little scary sharing it with the likes of you guys, where the watermark is significantly higher, but of coarse i would be honored to here ur opinions of my work

um, i dont have space to host the video, but i'll put up some grabs

thing is I just went out of state! so it might be a little while, I get back on the 20th :(
 
U never know where you might find a webhost if you ask. Everyone has spare bandwidth once in a while. Congrats. Just don't ever get a job doing english subtitles. :)

Ya know... I was wondering if that might've been the case. But, my rhyme sucked so bad I just knew you were talking to me! :) :) :)
