This movie has been trashed by critics as an inferior film from master director Wong Kar Wai. My opinion? Fantastic movie.
In fact, in cinematography and directing terms (camera movement and mise-en-scene) this movie is absolutelly stunning. Its inspiring. A true masterpiece.
The dialogue is, comprehensively, a bit unnatural, since it tries to work in many levels, but the acting is spot on. Nora Jones was a very nice surprise.
This is the type of movie that makes me wish I had a 2/3 ccd camera with lots of digiprimes options, for its excelent use of DOF...
This movie is a masterclass in directing, cinematography and music "blending"
I believe Wong Kar Wai took a big risk with this movie, going away from his "complex" non-linear storytelling to a more structured and fullfilling "journey".
Loved it- the best movie I've seen so far this year!
