Just received a dvx100b in mail and i have a couple concerns.

Hi,

I just received my dvx100b in the mail (bought from B&H) and I'm excited to use it, but i noticed that the handle zoom doesn't work on setting #2??? It works fine on settings 1 and 3? Is this reason for worry? Or is this an issue with all of the camcorders.

I also noticed that the camera has a subtle motor hum that I wasn't aware of. Have other users experienced the same? Does this motor humm get picked up by mics? (i'll probably be mounting a shotgun onto this camera to shoot documentary)....

...maybe i'm being a technical hypochondriac, but if someone could give me the 411 that would be great because i'll be leaving the country to shoot with this camera for 3 months very soon and if i've got some issues to resolve i better do it now.

There is a menu setting that lets you change handle zoom setting #2 to medium speed. It is set to OFF by default.

There is a very slight hum, but I've never had it show up on tape. Once you're in an environment with any sound at all, you probably won't notice it.
