I just got my first shipment of the new Schoeps CMIT 5U. I set up the CMIT 5U, MKH60, MK41, and 81i to do a little shootout. The CMIT 5U was very similar to the 81i, but really shined when I got further away from it. It has a little more throw than the other mics. Due to my situation as a "dealer" for all of these, I can't post any recordings of anything I did due to our dealer agreements. However, we are keeping a mic here in the shop for people to come in and listen to, so if anyone is local and wants to check it out, gimme a yell to make sure it's not out on demo, and you can give it a listen. Unfortunately, all the ones I ordered that I'm getting this year are already sold, but I did order a bunch for their next run, so I'll have more after the first of the year. I believe we will be putting a unit in our rental department as well.
