Just got my SGPro... Nikon 1.8 or 1.4??

I was considering the Zeiss 50mm 1.4, but Ive read that the bokeh is horrible...

Where? Ken Rockwell? I've never used it but from the pictures I've scene it looks fine.

My favorite lens for bokeh is the Pentax 50mm Super Takumar (yeah, I know this picture I took is slightly out of focus, but we're talking about how well the out of focus parts look anyway). This was shot in a Hookah bar in Astoria. I love how the background slowly melts together into rich colors.

i personally shoot with an AI 50 1.4 on my D200, it meters fine in A mode (the D200 is a smart camera)
so all i have to do is focus which i enjoy doing.

i think manual focus gives you a better sense of composition because as you are going through the range of focus you are looking more carefully versus autofocus where you are only seeing the final focus point, not the range of focus possible. (if that makes any sense)

Yeah, Im looking at some older AI 50 1.4 MF on evilbay... pretty cheap too, under 100... Im weary about buying something "old" and "used" though... for the price, I guess I cant go wrong...
