just got my mits on a 1.5x anamorphic adapter

The back of the anamorphot sticks out really far in the centre; I don't know how I would fit another brand of lens behind it, other than the iscorama one it was designed for.. which has its own built in 'hole' where the anamorphot's big 'arse goes..

It is known to work well with the Nikon 50mm 1.8 which has a huge front cavity.

Do you have to set the Nikon focus to infinity or can you focus with the Nikon 50mm or does focussing have to still be done with the iscorama?

..and the very sharp Nikkor 2/50mm not to forget.

Yes Matt, I sent you the +0.5 achromat, one of the few ones I have offered
for sale here in the "for sale" section http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?p=1787825

Hey KDS, thanks for the achromat (sorry I didn't reply sooner, been incredibly busy!).. is this the Nikkor Lens u are talking about? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/original-EL-N...raphy_DarkroomSupplies_SM?hash=item3efe60edb9

I can find lots of Nikkor 1.8/50mm but no Nikkor 2/50mm

Being of a wider aperture, isn't the f1.8 going to give a nicer image thant the f2?

Anyone know where to get or how to make 1.33x & 1.5x circles for testing? I saw a neat looking chart with a bunch of diff circles on flickr, but cant find it anymore.

Tell me about it! :)

Yes, I'll post up my chart soon. It's easy to make, you can use any basic program, even 'paint' on windows will do it; just draw a circle using the circle tool. Then select 'stretch horizontally', and put in 150%. Do another circle stretched at 133%. You can do this with any symmetrical shape.. Make sure you label each image so that you know which is which when you film it!

I'll post up my chart and also my results when my mount adapter is returned to me. Why is it when you're excited about something it takes so long to happen?!

Matt

If its any use to this thread, I also have an exakta mount ISCORAMA and it too has a 1.33 ratio. So maybe its only the exakta-iscos that have this?

I like the 1.33, its not TOOOOO stretched and still panoramic, good for movies!
