Just received my new mac pro. Its the early '09 model. This thing is a beast. Don't having anything installed on it yet, bout to go buy the dvi adapter amongst other things. Cant wait to edit.

Its the 8-core 2.26 model. I also installed 12gb of memory into as well.

awesome.

Sweet. Wish I could swing both a tower and laptop, but I'm a writer first so the MBP will have to do.

I have encountered a few hiccups. I thinking that its the after market ram i installed. A gray, translucent pulls down over everything, freezes, and forces me to restart. I bought the ram from OWC. Said it was apple certified, but now i'm having my doubts.

AND WHEN IS APPLE GOING TO MAKE A MOUSE WITH A RIGHT CLICK!!! CMON!

You can do right click, I think you have to go to system preferences to enable it. As for the RAM, make sure is compatible, as the new mac pros use different RAM than previous version

Congrats

I bought the ram from OWC. It says the ram is compatible with the new Nehalem based Mac Pro. I switched out their ram with the ram from apple, havent had a problem yet. So there is one possibility that ONE stick of ram is not working, causing my computer to freeze up. Now I have to figure out which one it is, which sounds like a very time consuming process unless ya'll have any advice on figuring that out.

Mine is great . Only problem is a m key that doesn't work that well. I might have to have it fixed.

I called OWC and that said is was kerneling or something... But I did a PRAM reset, and the same problem occured the SECOND it restarted. So, I think i'm just going to return the ram for another set, and if the problem persist, then I might have to use the apple ram, which is 800 for 12gb i think.......
