Just Got Mine!!!!

Okay, I've been doing some research for a new camera for a while now. That's how I found this forum (online community). So after just a few weeks of reading a countless number of posts here, you have all convinced me that the dvx was the one.

Money was tight, but I just took the dive and bought my camera today. All cash. Nice to not have it on my credit cards!

Made the purchase at evs and bought a uv filter for it too.

You all convinced me to buy at evs too. I was itching for buydig.com, but the fact that they aren't an authorized dealer drew some concern. And I figured that peace of mind went a long way.

I put off the MACK warranty for now, but plan to get it in the next couple of weeks. What is everyone else's experience with this warranty?

Well, gotta back to my Barry Green book and dvd and new toy, oh I mean professional video equipment.

Congratulations rasquach, and thank you very much for the business!

As far as the Mack warranty, it does three good things:
1- Free cleaning every year (You have to mail it to NJ, but then you save $90 off a pro cleaning)
2- After 1 year it kicks in to provide 4 years of protection, for when that diode fizzles out in the pickup sections and it cost $230 just to pop the camera open for a diagnosis.
3- Raises the resale value after the factory warranty has expired, because it is fully transferable to the next buyer.

DVXuser price on the pro 4-year 1056 is $174.95. Other dealers start at $199.95 and go up to $349.95.
