Just finished DIY Slider $0

Nice one, gonna build this for sure! Can you share with us your supply list for the build...looks fairly simple

Yes, its simple enough I found everything in my house :D

1/4 inch concrete bolt for the mount, should be just long enough that is extends past the top of the trucks (see video) as its pounded in the hold you drill. Mines about a 3 3/4 inch length.

Middle block of wood should can be as long as you want, I used 2, 3/4inch boards cut to size

Thats pretty much it, cut the wood, drill the 4 holes lined up with trucks, mount them with whatever nuts and bolts you have lying around , drill center hole and pound in concrete bolt, take truck wheels off, and put bearings back on. Mount ballhead of your choosing.

Rails are a basic squared wooden framed with pvc held on top by nails. It will need to sit about an inch or so off the ground as the trucks hang slightly below the rails.

Love it!
Sorry if I sound ignorant but I'm not a skateboarder. If you remove the wheels, do you get 2 bearings per wheel or do u get one & u added the extra one? Being all metal, do u find that you lose friction / traction from time to time, where the bearings meet your rail.
Cheers

Yes, its 2 bearings per wheel, granted you have to take the wheels off to get the bearings off. There is s metal spacer between the two to keep from over tightening and squeezing the wheels together too much, so no added parts to the trucks.

As for friction, there is none that I can see, in the first shot of the rig all I did was elevate one side a tad and it can roll by itself with or without my camera on it. Also, due to the size of the piping, the contact point of the bearings is only on the corner of the inner edge, as apposed to the bearings rolling on a flat surface.

Thanks again..This is working great.

Sweet! I'd love to see other peoples design if this catches on.

ALSO - if anyone was wondering about the two inner wooden rods, I stuck those on just to keep the trucks asssembly from falling off sideways, and are positioned with smallest amount of side clearance. I figure I could screw a flat weight on the bottom of the trucks, below the rails and that would help stabilize it even more, and prohibit it from falling off at all.
