Just curious about D(?)SLRs

I was watching the Australian Open (tennis) in January and noticed when most high profile players would hit the ball you could hear a flurry of camera shutters going off. Are there still that many pro photographers who use film? Or do DSLRs still make the shutter noise?

Oh...and is Federer a highly advanced unstopable cyborg from the future?
