Just Cause

Had never seen this film before tonight. Very reminiscent of the times (even though I wasn't yet born. Car phones anyone?), overall quite enjoyable.
Sean Connery sets out to prove a man innocent on death row and, well, things go from there. The reason I figured I'd start a thread is because this just struck me as a film whose story fit perfectly the structure found in every screenplay how to book out there.
I felt it was very well done, from character, to setups of locations, events, and it told the story it promised. From a shooting standpoint, I felt like the camera shots and movement aided the story without drawing attention to themselves. Push-ins were mostly subtle, crane shots moved enough to motivate the story visually, but were not sweeping. If anyone else has any thoughts, please feel free to chime in.
Id like to give this film another watch paying more mind to story, composition, lighting, sound... May need multiple pass throughs.

I don't recall the movie particularly well other than it was a serviceable thriller. I do recall it having a sun-drenched look for the Florida locale. It was directed by Arne Glimcher who was also a noted art dealer.

What I do remember is when this movie came out all I could do was make jokes about the title.

"Hey Sean, why'd you defend this guy?"
"Hey Larry, why'd you make this movie?"

Shrugging answer: "Just cause."

My family made plenty of those jokes as well, Mitch. :)
And I find it interesting, the ability to suggest location with color.
