just built my 35mm adapter.. check it out

I've been getting alot of PM's asking about selling these.. My initial intent was not to make them for sale, however, the only reason I built this is because after searching 133 pages on edweirdo's thread I couldn't find anyone to make one for me..Therefore I was forced to make it myself.. After a bunch of trial and error I got a nice solution..
With that said, I'm going to order some parts and then sell this actual adapter on ebay.. I'll start the bidding at 200.00 and have a buy it now at 300.00.. Believe it or not that basically covers all my materials, failed attempts, gas and tolls to B&H photo, and tools purchased to make this thing.. When it's up I'll post the link here for you guys.. If you want to email me personally, you could use roy@rivedata.com

might you consider posting what parts you purchased to make this, so we can make them ourselves? ex: pvc parts, gg, etc.

I'm guessing here, but PVC pipe comes in a few standard sizes. My guess is these are 2-inch ID. If you take that picture to Home Depot, you can probably find these parts quite easily for less than $10.

Could I interest you in building one for me at double or triple the price, or could you send me a parts lists and instructions?

I'll get the list of PVC pipe up soon.. It's just 2" black pipe.. with that picture the guy at HD should easily be able to find it..

I can't see how $200.00 covers cost? Pvc pipe is no more expensive than $10.00 dollars the most and the screen can't be more than $35.00-$50.00. And you haven't mentioned if you're using an Achromat or aMacro. There are unlimited amount of threads that cover the results of a Nikon D screen and there will always be grain. Your adapter hasn't been through significant amount of tests to show it doesn't have grain. Stopped down, low light etc etc...Still, possibly you have the holy grail of all Nikon screens and if that's the case, point me to the right direction. Also, if you want parts and tut how to build one, just search, there's at least 3 or 4 thousand floating around. I've got 2 out there.

you obviously didn't read my post above..I said it covered my gas, tolls, and failed attempts.. Just like in anything.. if you're building it for the first time ever, you're experimenting with it.. I must have went to home depot 5 times to get the right parts.. I drove into NYC to talk with BH photo guys and check out lenses.. if materials alone cost about $10.00 for pvc, $45.00 or so for GG, $20.00 for macro, $12.00 for cokin, $8.00 for step up rings, $30.00 for uv filters.. that's $125.00.. Trust me, if I found a guy selling this same thing for 2-300.00 earlier I would've gladly jumped on it.. I had parts all over my kitchen table for a week..
Also, I'm going to use this for commercials and music videos. All will be well lit..and when it's well lit, you'll see there is no real visible grain.. It's not the kind of set up you use to run around shooting your friends playing beer pong.. Then you'll see grain.. Sure it's not the best set up.. but I can tell you I'll recoup the costs easily and start making money from it..
Also, if you need to ask me if I used a macro or achromat, does it really matter then? Obviously you couldn't tell..

IF i look through the eyepiece, will the image still be upside down or backwards? IF so, is there anyway to correct this besides an external lcd screen?

yea.. the image is upside down.. Can be corrected with the "magnet trick" or a mirror on the LCD screen.. The menu in the DVX has a mirror function..
