Just bricks in THE WALL

Saw this at a midnight showing at the Music Box a week or so ago. The animation was amazing, and i was glad that it didn't rely on the live action very much. trippy, genius, hypnotic... see Pink Floyd's The Wall if you ever get a chance.

I've watched The wizard of oz with dark side of the moon and it's freaky how it goes along with the film, almost perfectly.

I've fallen asleep watching The Wall more than any other movie. That's only because I've seen it quite a few times at a midnight showing way under the influence.

On the dvd, which is full of extras by the way, the making of featurette discloses the conflict between the director and the animator. The director wasn't happy with the animations. Looking back now, I wonder if he realizes the animation MADE that film.

On another note, if you are a fan of early Pink Floyd as I am, check out Live at Pompeii. It might be my favorite band performance video ever. The camera work is great. The band plays from day to dusk to night in the empty ruins of Pompeii. They also intercut studio footage of them writing Dark Side Of The Moon. Great stuff.
