Just bought a great Teleprompter

Wow, I just stumbled across this. The repairs sound like very minor issues if you could even call them that. Good to know the company is responsive and you are still happy with it.
Thanks Jim.

I recently got an upgrade for the Teleprompter and I wanted to share. When I bought my original, the monitor was held in a metal frame with velcro straps. Functional, but a bit awkward, heavy and less-than-elegant. The beamsplitter frame was held at the proper angle by the tension of a single threaded rod that passed through the frame, with knobs at both end to adjust. It was effective with the help of the side panels, but it broke eventually and I replaced it and added lock washers (as mentioned earlier in this thread), which worked well.

These were among my few complaints abut this otherwise effective prompter. Well, apparently Edward Gilbert and the people at Telmax Teleprompters keep making good stuff even better. I got the upgraded element that attaches to the front of the rails, holding both the beamsplitter and the monitor. The new version is much improved. The monitor is held to the frame with a plate using the VESA mount which is MUCH lighter and more elegant. The beamsplitter frame is now adjusted by a separate adjustment knob on each side, using a traditional arc-shaped rail. My guess is that this is the way all of their teleprompters currently ship.

I know that in the age of iPads, many of you may not need a dedicated prompter. But if you are looking for a real teleprompter, with great prompter software and extremely helpful customer service, I can't recommend these guys enough. I can't say how their prompters compare to others since aside from a few rentals, this is the only one I am familiar with. But after using this one for a few years (even without the new upgrades), I could not be happier. I couldn't ask for more.
