Jurassic World

Loved it. It was the sequel to Jurassic Park I've been waiting for for 22 years.

The dinosaur work was outstanding.

Was great fun. Solid sequel and possibly the best one but it'll take time for me to make that call 100%. I still have a soft spot for The Lost World and it does have the Spielberg touch despite it's flaws so some parts of that REALLY work. Jurassic World had it's flaws too, but really gave solid winks to the fans, was scarier and more brutal than the marketing made it seem, etc. Marketing was too slick, never sold me and made me nervous but that was to get the avg. person in the door, the people who would just scream DINOSAURS at the sight of it. I needed more to be sold. A bit more of the intensity in the later marketing got me in opening day. Glad we went. It's some of the best pop-corn I've seen in a while and VERY self aware of what it's place was in the franchise. It's greatest missteps for me were where it tried to take itself too seriously...once it slipped into a more comfy self-aware state, it was great. Chris Pratt was fine but wasn't given much to do. Those one-liner deadpan moments were groanworthy. The guy could've done more but movie didn't let him. Oh well, he had his moments too.

Wish they'd stop after this one but after it's opening...good luck with that. The CGI was hit and miss, and I stand by my statements in the article linked earlier in the thread. The way these movies are done now do the VFX artists no favors...just the way it is. Oh well.

This movie brought back the fun, magic and thrills of old Hollywood entertainment movies. Interesting characters- a nod to Indiana Jones, even- wonderful images, great orchestral track, and a Godzilla moment. Great time at the movies!

I can't find a still pic of the whole Jurassic World park, but it really reminded me of this:

And I wonder if it was intentional.

Yep, have to agree. This was a really fun and well done movie for sure. I think they did a really great job of following up, what is now considered, a classic.

Personally I prefer the youthfull females running around in chiffon outfits to the carnage of raptor-rex-hybrids... and I definitely would like that 'travel tube' for a night's adventure... but alas... I'm now 7 years old than Ustinov was... and would had to make my run long before now...

On the other hand there's use of the cityscape in "Star Trek V" as seen here:

The filmmaking was fine, but I hated all the characters in this movie. I found them all annoying or dumb, so I couldn't enjoy this.

I had a $3 credit on Vudu, cost me around $1 to watch it... Left me kind of feeling nothing, much like many Michael Bay films.
