Yeah... Does the glass need to break? I'm assuming it does, because if it didn't, you'd just toss a pad down and do it.
If it does need glass, look into buying some real sugar glass. (Note: The stuff is still sharp, so make sure you have the proper protection.) You can easily cook some up yourself, but it turns out yellowish, you have to make it the day before, it melts in the sun, and it's generally a MAJOR pain in the ass to deal with. If there is a glass in a window, than u can deal with Sugar Glass. But if you want to avoid it, i will suggest you to go with After effects as it can produce great effect of glass breaking if you know the basics.
