Juicing a sound in premiere

I am artifically inserting an A.M. radio show talking through one of those speakers at a gas station. You know, the ones that sound kind of "muffled". Problem is, I don't know how to add that "muffled" tone. Is there a filter I can use in Premiere to give it that sound?

use an eq filter - drop the bass and the highs keep the middle frequencies up - like a bell shaped curve. Then lower the volume/level of the sound.

soarprod, i don't even know how to do that. i mean i know how to apply the EQ filter to the clip. But then what? (premiere pro 1.5)

um, you can look in the manual but basically you drop the eq (mono/stereo) on the clip - then go to effect controls then add 2 control points on the eq graphic to create a bell curve. top is 0 db change - left and right are - infinity. you have 4 points to create the curve or shape. 1 & 4 drag all the way down - ie. 500hz point 1 & 15khz point 4

dots added to keep the right shape in this post.

if you need more help, i suppose i could do a screenshot.

Yeah, I've been working on the same thing and I tried what was first suggested before this topic even came up but I can't get it to sound perfect to save my life.
