so recently i won a little accessory that was sent to me courtesy of JuicedLink, it's the rectangular accessory bracket DIY101B and the DIY105 piece to mount it to 15mm rails.

First, the built quality is great, the pieces feel really really solid and i wouldn't worry about them breaking ever in my lifetime, super heavy duty.
So first i mounted a couple of accessories on my Canon HF S21, i only had a HDV-Z96 led light and the RODE NTG-2 shotgun mic to try for now. I mounted them using the standard way shown on their website. Warning: crappy cellphone pictures coming up...
This thing has a crazy amount of threaded and unthreaded holes everywhere, so mounting many accessories won't be a problem. You can easily get a mic, a light, a monitor, wireless receivers, a preamp and more.
The only problem with my camcorder is that the flip out screen is 3.5 inches when opened, and i can't open it all the way. The only way to do it is to mount the camcorder from front to back with the screen already opened. JuicedLink offers an extra piece that sits the camcorder a little more to the front fixing this issue.
So next i started to play around with it in different configurations. First i mounted it on 15mm rails... upside down, and found out it also works as a nice heavy duty handles.
I also thought it may work as a nice top handle by removing one of the side brackets. Since everything is so sturdy and solid, this worked perfectly.
I didn't try this now, but you could easily use it also as an "L" bracket or just use the bottom one with one accessory to the side, etc. IT offers great customization. All in all, great product and I'll surely be using from now own in many configurations.
The bracket comes with all the necessary bolts to assemble the unit and also various extra bolts to mount accessories and the camera. IT also comes with some rubber washers and a stick on cork if you wish to use it.
