Juggling accesseries

Hey all. Was wondering how you all use multiple accesseries on your camera while shooting?

Is it possible to pick up a shotgun mic that you can use to replace the onboard stock mic or are you stuck with getting non shotgun upgrades to the stock mic? (Meaning, literaly replacing the stock mic with a shotgun mic in the physical little holder rather than take up the hot shoe)

I would like to be able to use the hotshoe for putting onboard LED lights or a TFT monitor or etc rather than a shotgun. Can anyone give some advice or links to some useful accesseries which they use? Thanks for reading

The "problem" with the built-in shockmount is that it just isn't that good in isolating handling noise, so you are better off using a different, purpose built shock mount.

If you are in need of attaching more stuff to the cam, you could alsways get a shoe mount splitter / Y. Something like this:
