so for class i had to light a scene, we could really do whatever we wanted. I used a few home depot lights to do this. The funny thing is i had a 4ft kino flo that i ended up not using casue it had daylight bulbs in it. anyway this is one of my first attempts at lighting. I know i could use a little more fill on the right but since i'm still learning anymore comments would be awesome. thanks

Re: judge my ligthing.

When you've got alight source in a scene often that is your imaginary source so I don't think you need any fill on the right side as you suggest. It looks good. I would probably put a bit of light (maybe a horizontal slash on the back wall as it would create more depth in your wide shot. Also the close-up of the phone on the table I might have lit flatter since the light source supposedly lighting it was the desk lamp. you moved your light in from the front. Over all it looked nice.

thanks for the input. yea the close up on the phone we moved the light in, what you said makes a lot of sense though. I also like your idea for the light on the back wall. Thanks.

Re: judge my ligthing.

Your fill light cast an ugly dark shadow on the back wall in a frontal wide shot. Probably because you filled from too frontal a position (with a hard source). I agree with the others - you did not need so much fill (use a soft one if you have to), to represent what was the motivated light source (eg the table lamp, which would bve a sof source). Note your fill light also cast a shadow on to the couch off the table lamp.

Re: judge my ligthing.

Agree with the above; it looked really nice; especially since its your first time. I would have added some light down the dark hallway for depth as Walter suggested.

Nice job!
