Journeyman

Anyone else watching this show? I like it. Yeah, it's a rip off of quantum leap, but so what.
It's not the greatest show ever but sometimes it's nice to watch an unpretentious show that isn't trying too hard but just delivers week after week. It's been pretty consistent quality wise and Kevin McKidd is somehow very likeable, despite his perma-sneer. They need to get a move on with the Langley guy as they've basically had the same scene with him three times saying the same cryptic stuff.

I love this show, but I wonder how may others are watching it. I keep thinking that it's only still on because it comes on after Heroes.

As far as being a ripoff of Quantum Leap... Journeyman is far superior to Quantum Leap in almost every respect. The plots are decent, and while each episode can stand alone, there are plenty of plot arcs going on as well.

My only real complaint about this show is that it seems to be following the whole "ripped from the headlines" thing -- the blatant retelling of the DB Cooper story was pretty obvious, for example. With such a broad concept, they really shouldn't be borrowing ideas from real life so early on in the series.

I certainly hope the show succeeds. It's rapidly becoming one of my favourite running shows.

We really dig Kevin McKidd, and I like Moon Bloodgood a lot.

But to us, it's just kind of barely sputtering along. The relationship between McKidd's and Bloodgood's characters, is what we're both drawn to; plus the whole cryptic thing with the physics professor...the wife doesn't do much for us, the brother is okay...but now that *SPOILER* his bro has given him up to the FBI over the hijack-money, maybe it will get more interesting...

...plus we enjoy the opening titles and music.

And I have a friend working on it, who I want to see have continued employment; yet another reason to root for the show.

It's a good show but the stories are paper thin and I really wish they didn't feel compelled to turn it into a night time soap by stringing the audience along (a la "Lost") with random ambiguous plot lines. The whole device seems tacked on to satisfy a studio note.

However, I do like the idea that Lyvia is traveling FORWARD while Dan is traveling BACKWARD in time. That was a nice reveal.

The location and production values are awesome as are the acting, directing and cinematography.
