Well Yi showed how to make a fun and proper camera test and plant5d showed how not to conduct an interview. i could only take 5 minutes before I clicked off.

haha! I am not watching it; too busy, but was interested in others feedback from the interview, and then have them share their own thoughts that may have inadvertently stemmed from the interview.

It is interesting that, Jonathan Yi's video's aim is educating the masses as to what a camera is good for.

Canon is marketing and hyping the camera to the cinema crowd.

Canon engineers built the camera for broadcast.

But ended up creating a camera that is great for budget art/narrative-driven documentaries, but priced for bigger productions.

Wow?

The link doesn't give me anything. Is there anywhere else to watch this?

Watched the podcast. He makes some good points. I do get the feeling from him that the red cameras overheat and crash some? He says the Canon does better with skin tones/people and best low light camera out there. But that the alexa is the best camera to rent.

agree about the interviewer... creepy little fella.

Yi came across well though and the C300 is looking really good. Can't wait to try it out.

To me, the best thing Yi said about the camera is it looks like it doesn't need "any external anything". That's quite refreshing.

a bit surprised some of you here are doggin this guy johnathan yi. yeah he is pretty chilled but he surely isnt about "hype"...not in the least. i do get the feeling that the C300 is much more of a camera that it appears on paper and this guy feels that way as do others that have used it but unlike the others he doesnt appear to be buddies of canon like a few others we know of. i thought his video was very useful and the most useful as to getting some kind of a realistic idea of what the C300 is vs the Laferet video and the others from the canon premiere which looked great to me but also had the best of crews and post production colorists etc.

still wondering where all of the scarlet footage is though. 20-30 bodies out in the wild but only scraps and i mean scraps so far its almost silly.

Could you post a link or quote to someone dogging Jonathan Yi? Sorry, generalizations can do more harm than good. All negative comments in this thread have been directed at the interviewer. Thanks.

ok, at the interviewer...then my misunderstanding. went back a re-read and agree.

still think the C300 looks amazing not that i would spend that kind of cash though.

Just watched this. "Mitch" the interviewer, couldn't have been more awkward...this was just a bizarre interview altogether. Jonathan Yi is definitely a talent, really hope he posts some more stuff with the c300 if given the opportunity. His footage was far more impressive (cinematic-wise) than the other 13:59 short film that's on Vimeo.
