Joker to be played by....

For the second Batman Begins, who do you think should play the joker. The rumor is....MICHAEL KEATON. How funny would that be. But, seriously, I think Steve Buscemi would be the perfect joker

I think it'd be awesome if it were Keaton.

However, I also think Jack Black would do a fantastic job. Not that I really like the guy, but he seems that type.

I heard talks of Mark Hamill. Which would be awesome, as we already know he's got the voice down (he was Joker in the animated series.)

I read somewhere that Nolan wasn't necessarily going to put Joker in the next Batman -- he didn't have two movies planned.

Nolan and Goyer hadn't sat down to talk sequels because no one really knew how this one was going to do.

My guess is the Joker will appear in the third Batman movie Nolan and Bale were contracted to do, if they last that long. There is a possibility, though slim, that the next Batman could be Batman and Robin all over again...

How can you end the film with the joker card and not pay it off in the second. That would be absolutely ridiculous and piss a lot of people off.

I dig both the idea of Keaton or Hamill, but for this Batman and the world created in BatmanBegins I think a younger Joker fits the bill. Right now my frontrunner would have to be Crispin Glover.

No matter what I trust whatever choice they make for future villians if Nolan is still at the helm.

hmm...maybe im reading too much into it...but i think maybe Judge Faden (Gerard Murphy) from batman begins will end up being the joker...

in the bar scene, when Wayne confronts Falcone, the glance at the end of the scene from the judge felt very foreshadowing...i dunnoo...just a hunch...he has an interesting look as well. when i first saw that scene i was like, that guys the joker.

and why cut back to him twice? wasnt once enough for the scene? just to see him living it up with some girls wasnt enough? whats the last shot for? felt like they were giving that shot some importance, but felt out of place to me...especialy from a character with such a minimal role. unless they were trying to leave some tiny clue...btw, i dont think we ever see him again in the movie after that moment.

anyway, like i said, im probly reading into it too much.

EDIT: this whole post might be retarded...i just started to think about that scenario...isnt the jokers real name Jack Napier? at least thats from the burton batman...i dont know a whole lot about the batman universe.

Yes, it's Jack Napier.

The idea of Mark Hamill being the joker is positively brilliant! Or at least have him do the voice dub.

Because honestly, that voice just works for me, and always has.

Yes I would like to se Mark as the Joker. Didnt he play the Joker also in Birds of prey also?

I would hope they dont make the joker as a man fallen in acid. I want him to have the jokers personality but he still would be a "normal" bad guy.

No, it's not Jack Napier in the comic. That name was created for the Burton movie, with "Napier" being homage to Alan Napier, who played Alfred in the '60s TV show.

His real name is unknown in the comics, though the name "Jack" has been associated with him in one-off stories and Elseworlds, etc..

How does Indiana Jones end with a room full of occult artifacts we never see again in any of the sequels? How does the Russian guy escape Chris and Paulie at Pine Barrens never to be seen again?

There are plenty of stories to tell and I don't think Nolan feels any obligation to tell stories other than the ones he's interested in.

In a major break from type casting, I heard the Joker was to be played by Lindsay Lohan.

You mean that was wrong?

Crispin Glover would be great

Mark Hamill would be good, but he only does voice-over stuff now. Boring... a comeback maybe?

No it wouldn't piss people off. If you had another solid movie with Joker clues and teases leading up to Batman and the Joker in a third movie, how would people be pissed? The anticipation would be awesome! Especially if the next Batman is as good as Batman Begins. It would have you on the edge of your seat dying to see Batman and The Joker.

Anyway, just my .02.

I don't know I like Glover, but not sure he's my Joker. Have to think about it. I think Mark Hamill nailed the performance in the animated series, so that's tough to compete with but I don't know that he's right ON screen...

lol

Absolutely.

Now, someone hook me up with a time machine.

Just saw The Man Who Laughs a few months ago.

Amazing picture.
